Saturday, April 25
:  Celebrate with Pelican Island Audubon at the opening of their new Audubon House, 195 Ninth Street SE (Oslo Rd), Vero Beach.  10:00 .am. to 3:00 p.m.  Official ceremonies at 11:00 a.m.  Enjoy a slice of the 50th Anniversary Cake, see the Oslo Boat Ramp, learn what Indian River County activists are doing to preserve and protect the area, kayak or wade in shallow water off the boat ramp, exploring the fish & seagrass.  Free.

Saturday, May 23Ormond Beach Historical Society "Discover our History" lecture series at Anderson-Price Memorial Building, 42 N. Beach Street, Ormond Beach.  James "Zach" Zacharias, Education Curator at Museum of Arts & Sciences in Daytona Beach, presents "John James Audubon:  The Artist Scientist in Florida."  9:30 refreshments; 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. presentation.  Free admission.

Friday-Sunday, September 18-20:  Third Annual Cape Cod Bird Festival, Cape Cod, MA.  Join birder's from around the US and Canada for a weekend of birding, workshops, guest speakers and the Vendor Marketplace.  Field trips include pelagic, key land and offshore island sites.  Discounted rates at Doubletree by Hilton.  Keynotes speakers:   Miyoko Chu and Richard Crossley.
