	DESCRIPTION: Join us for a Zoom meeting beginning at 6:30 pm. The program begins at 7:00 pm and will be a video interview with "Dr. Frank Chapman." Dr. Chapman actually died 75 years ago but Tallahassee writer and conservationist, James Huffstod, will be appearing in character as Dr. Chapman. Dr. Chapman was an avid self-taught ornithologist famous for his extensive and detailed studies of the life histories, geographic distribution, and systematic relationships of North and South American birds. He was associate editor of  Auk  (1894), the leading U.S. ornithology journal of his day, and founded and edited the magazine  Bird-Lore  (1899). \n His most important works include: \n  Handbook of Birds of Eastern North America  (1895), \n  The Distribution of Bird-Life in Colombia  (1917), \n  The Distribution of Birds of the Urubamba Valley, Peru  (1921), and \n  The Distribution of Bird-Life in Ecuador  (1926). \n He joined the staff of the  American Museum of Natural History  in 1888 as assistant to  Joel Asaph Allen  . In 1901 he was made associate Curator of Mammals and Birds and in 1908 Curator of Birds. \n Among his many contributions to the natural world Chapman was the founder of the Christmas Bird Count the longest running citizen science project in history. Through old photos and his deep research Jim gives us a fascinating look at this giant of conservation biology.
