The Great Backyard Bird Count

10AM to 2PM

Ormond Beach Environmental Discovery Center (OBEDC)

601 Division Avenue, Ormond Beach

Spend the day with the staff of OBEDC, Halifax River Audubon, Florida Native Pant Society and more as we explore the world of birds and scan the park for birds. There is a full schedule of activities available, from guided walks to fun games and experiences for the whole family. Activities include, but are not limited to:

Build an Eagle Nest

Migration Isn't Easy

Hummingbird Experience

Egg Match Game

Bird Exhibits

Reports on birds found along the trails

Viewing Stations in the park

Opportunities to walk with an expert bird guide on the trails

Crafts and much more

Come for an hour, come for the entire event!

The unofficial start of the day will be a serious bird walk open to the public. This will begin at 7:30AM and will cover a large portion of the park. This will be our first look at the birds for the day and data collected here will be entered in the eBird database.

Then we set up the booths for the 10AM start of the festivities!
