This is a strenuous hike through a beautiful oak hammock opening into a large flood plain along the shores of Lake Jessup. This location can get quite wet and proper footwear is a must. Warblers, woodpeckers and other forest birds are found in the hammock while the floodplain offers shorebirds and raptors and maybe some wintering sparrows.
Pack a lunch for a quick picnic at the Lake Jesup boat launch on South Sanford Avenue
Meet at 7:30AM for Carpooling to the site
This is a neat link that describes the hike http://floridahikes.com/lake-jesup-marl-bed
