Masters Tract and Faver Dykes State Park

Date:
10/6/2023 at 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Event Description

We will travel north on US1 to visit 2 locations.

Masters Tract is a storm water treatment facility that hosts a diversity of bird species. eBird lists 215 species at this location in Flagler County. Treatment wetlands improve water quality and attract an incredible diversity of birds. Make sure to wear shoes you don’t mind getting wet or dirty! Sunscreen is recommended, and bug spray is an absolute must. There are no restrooms or water fountains at this location.

Faver-Dykes State Park is just down the road and offers a complete change in habitat, with longleaf pines in a sandhill ecosystem along Pellicer Creek. We will eat lunch here and walk the trails looking for birds. There is an entrance fee required at the park

We will carpool for this outing, meeting at Ormond Towne Square shopping center behind Chik-Fil-A.

Pack water, snacks and lunch as needed. Expect to walk 3 miles total all day.
